I've read several posts suggesting that the starter relay circuit is subject to failure on those MG models that take power from the ignition switch. So, in an effort to avert a similar failure on my 2010 V7 Cafe, I decided to power the relay directly from the battery. I used a 15AMP fuse and for the past one thousand miles or so it has not been overloaded. However, my rationale behind the 15AMP fuse was based on "feel" rather than science. It just felt like it would not take much current to hold in ("close") a normally open relay. But for reasons I cannot explain I'm beginning to question my fuse choice.
So, for those who have modified their starter relay circuit to be powered directly from the battery, what fuse rating did you use?
