Just got it firing!
G’day All,
After having not regularly ridden any motorbike for 40+ yrs, in Feb’23, I purchased a ‘22 MG V85TT Travel, along with a new full set of PPE & a 1/2 day “Returning Rider” course with Stay Upright. Bikes ridden in my teens & early 20’s inc Honda CB350 & CB400F, Kawasaki KZ650, Suzuki GS750, Honda CX500 & XL500, throughout the southern mainland states of Oz, inc Perth to Adelaide in ‘79 on the GS750.
So the ‘Guzzi is my first “non-Jap” m’bike & I really like it’s relatively simple & proven design, it’s 100yr heritage & “different” character.
No major issues so far, other than needing to tighten gear shift lever mount clamp onto shaft at about 2000km which had come very loose resulting in not being able to “find” neutral when stopped. Tightened it , & rear brake lever as well, with application of locktite, which I suspect it missed at the factory. Dealer service at 1500km swapped tyres to the Michelin Anakee Adventures it was supposed to be delivered with but wasn’t. Being of small-medium build I doubt that I would ever need anything bigger or more powerful. Have ridden about 4000kms on the V85 so far, inc Beechworth to Bairnsdale & return, via Mitta & Omeo, back in early Aug.
Pics are on Carboor-Whorouly Rd, NE Vic.
