• NOTICE: The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com completely lost his home on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone effected in this horrific disaster.

Long story short my 1100 Sport caught fire so having already changed it from a racing stance to upright I thought lets take it a bit further.
New tank, dual seat and modifying the rear sub frame are top of my list. Brian has already done all this with his Furia so I emailed him and asked how much as I'm sure they're a lot nicer than anything I'll do.
However "the price for rear frame, dual seat and tank is euro 3.380,00".
Back to the workshop then.

Not for a while mate, there are a couple of things I should sort out but have never bothered, drilled out thread at the top of the timing cover (like many others) for instance. I've still got a V10 so I can get my dose of Guzzi as needed. Interestingly Brian got back to me and said how much do you think you should be paying so I'm going to send him a link to a tank manufacturer, a seat manufacturer and say £400ish for the rear sub frame. All in all £1,500 ish, it is lovely gear but I don't think he'll drop that far.

To be fair he did get back and say he couldn't drop that far, if I do win the Lotto I'm still sticking it in a crate and sending it to him. Lovely gear, nice bloke and I'm sure his work is exceptional.
No point in getting all bitter and twisted just coz I'm a peasant.
(Or I might send it that bloke in So Cal, can't remember his name.....😉.)

How it catch fire? I recently had a close one. I was just chugging along and suddenly got a good splash of gas in the face when the engine died. Luckily I had my full face on or I'd have warm petrol in my eyes at 70mph. Apparently my fuel hose from the filter. The clamp worked its way loose. But I had fuel on a hot motor which can be a recipe for disaster. The best part is I lost the clamp. So, I popped the hose back on and limped my way to a hardware store. A good lesson learned. Check fasteners.. Kind of important :D🔥
