Is it possible to wire my Zumo xt in such a way that it powers off when the bike is turned off? My dealer wired it to the battery so I have to manually turn it off. On my v85 they wired it in such a way that it turned off with the bike but they’re having trouble figuring out with the new Stelvio.

From what I see on the schematic, the fuse panel is only supplied with Key On. Use a fuse piggy back and put the tap on the side away from supplied power. That is remove one fuse, turn key on and see which side is dead. Tap to the side that is dead is how I would do it.

Do an internet search using the phrase "fuse piggy back connectors" and you will see what I mean.

Search the Mandello section. There is more than one thread on using the (optional part #2S002027) USB power hub.

I used the power lead for the USB connector in the dash for my GPS. It turns on and off with the ignition and there is enough room behind the panel to velcro in the power supply for my Garmin XT. You can get the same connector as the USB lead to make a nice clean install. Wish I had taken pictures of the process to share (next time I have to remember!)

Do you really want the GPS to shut down and turn off every time you turn off the bike? I’ve been using a Garmin Zumo XT for years on multiple bikes. Both my phone and headset are paired to the XT so I can hear my music and get alerts while I’m riding. If the XT had to fire up and reconnect to the phone and headset every time I turned off the bike, like when I stop for gas it would be a real pain as sometimes not everything reconnects correctly. And yes I know I could just hit the tab on the screen when the XT switches to it’s battery when power from the bike gets turned off, but I found that I rarely saw the tab so the XT shuts off. I’m going to guess the XT could be on for a long time before it would discharge the bike’s battery.

Actually I don’t pair anything to the gps. I know I really don’t utilize the gps as much as I should. I mostly use it to know what roads I’m coming up on or to see the upcoming curves in the road I’m on. Again, not really using the full capability of the gps but that’s all I need for now.

8/19 - Edited after more research:

Started trying to figure out how to get power from the fuse boxes to the dash area and a piggyback fuse is too tall so the boxes won't close. Definitely don't want to cut wires in that area either.

I did some more digging into the power draw of the Zumo XT and found that 1.5A is the max when it is starting up. The operating power is supposedly right at 1A so not overloading the port. As long as nothing else is plugged into the USB socket.

In the end I found it pretty easy to pull the USB outlet panel, unfortunately AFTER removing the windshield and trying to gain access from the front as in the V85TT. Oops.

I'd made a set of pinned connectors for the V85TT that I could simply plug into the same connectors here on the Stelvio. Plenty of room to fold up the wire and stow it beneath the panel.

I would recommend against this.
I started to do the same but got suspicious when I saw the thinner orange and blue wire that the red & black connect to. According to the Owners Manual the max power for the USB is only 1 amp, while the Zumo XT draws 1.5.

It'll work for now to supply that extra half but may warm the wire. With time and a little corrosion don't be surprised if/when the wire fails. Better to come off the fuse block.

fwiw - My iPhone 14Pro will not stay charged at 1A if navigating on the map while the cell service is running in the background.

You can use the USB wires - switches on and off with ignition - to power a relay that also draws from a thicker wire that can be a constant 12V even. The relay takes care of the power.
