So, let's go to the other extreme. You (meaning the other two of us reading this) ought to at least be able to name the body of water in the photograph:

It looks like a Northern England view going by the landscape. What does puzzle me are the walls, I can't recall seeing any topped off like that. The view across the water looks a little like the southern Lake District from north of Lancaster but the area where the view is from doesn't suggest that, it's mainly flat.

I'm also thinking west coast Scotland but they have larger fields. I'll have to look at this a bit longer.

You're looking at the right clues. This village is a few miles south of where the picture of the road was taken:

Well I'm stumped!

The terain and view across the water makes me think it's Morcambe Bay, the Solway firth or the Firth of the Clyde but the style of walls are not familiar. The second picute makes me think small fishing village, in sheltered waters because of the pier, west coast Scotland. If it's northern Scotland the fields are quite large with different separations, hedges or wire.

I dunno. :?
 
Well, I frequently think of it. Been listening to Welsh carols for the last several days on WETA-FM, e.g., O Deuwch Ffyddionaid (O Come, All Ye Faithful). :laugh:

And, I have wanted to visit Wales for decades. Probably never will. In fact, despite numerous transatlantic flights, I've only seen the UK -- nothing political there; I can't keep up with the latest PC labels in this country, much less others ;) -- from 33K. Sigh. Would love to go.

Every Welshman, (northern) Irishman, Scotsman and Englishman carries a United Kingdom passport--nothing PC about it; it's who they are.

I'll see what I can find that might perhaps be known. Probably best to keep on the east side of the Atlantic.
 
I've been through Wales a few times, but only down the middle, quite different countryside from that in the pictures. I guess the next ride down there will need a coastal run. :)

I'll go for either the Guadalquivir or the Duero, but that's just a guess, I'll be surprised if it is one of those. I don't think anyone knows Daniel, so you'll have to put us out of our misery.

Yes, I'm pritty lucky, The Eskdale Vally running west from Hardknott is one of the nicest in the Lakes.

love the roads and pics guys, I reckon the early ambo ones were good ol Kodachrome ! you can see the difference, they have a feel , pictures that make you want to be there, one day they will bring it back , retro style..........
