It seems to me that the two possible oil sources are the shifting gearbox and the bevel gearbox. For the V7E5, they both use the same oil, SAE 75W-140 - API GL5.
This will be very helpful when I run out of warranty and it will come back. Thank you for this professional information.Hi.
Given the location of this oil relief hole, the oil can come from 2 different locations.
First, the Output shaft seal on the clutch side of the driveshaft housing, meaning that it will be gearbox oil.

Or second, oil from the pinion seal on the final drive (transmission) side, which in this case, it will be transmission Hypoid Gear Oil.

In either event, the repair of this type of oil leak is beyond the scope and tools of most home mechanics.
I would recommend checking your oil levels in the gearbox and transmission (final drive), and ensuring that you are not overfilled in either location.
Next, I would schedule and appointment with your local dealer to determine the precise source of the oil.
This repair should still be covered under the initial factory warranty if it is still in force. Otherwise, It will be a fairly expensive repair. You may be able to obtain some "goodwill" from Moto Guzzi if you r warranty has expired, but not if you have caused the leak by overfilling the fluids to the point of the increased pressure having cause the seal to blow out.
Good luck either way.
I hope this helps.
If you don't get satisfactory results from Munroe, try Desmoto Sport on 17th. Desmoto is the best for Euro bikes in SF. They figured out some things on my Triumph Tiger that the dealer could only scratch their head over. Not saying that Munroe Motors is bad, mind you, just that Desmoto has a group of very experienced mechanics.Update: dealership is trying to contact Moto Guzzi and asking them where the leak is coming from and how to fix it. It’s been a little more than a week since they contacted Moto Guzzi and hasn’t had any response yet. Dealer keep insisting that Moto Guzzi is a small company and they do take too long to respond. My dealership is in San Francisco Munroe Motors. Now I know why people who rides a motorcycle has multiple bike. It’s depressing without one.
Thanks for this feedback. I’m not sure if they do warranty service since it’s not on Moto Guzzi website. But if they can’t fix it then I’ll consider that option. If you don't get satisfactory results from Munroe, try Desmoto Sport on 17th. Desmoto is the best for Euro bikes in SF. Wow, this is good. Thanks. I’ll keep this in mind. One other tip: there are red colored gear oils, I think BMW branded is red. You could drain either the transmission or final drive and refill with red gear oil, then clean out the area where it is leaking. Then if the new leaking oil is colored or not colored, you will know the origin of the leak.
