Tuned and Synch'ed
So- my clutch hand lever got mushy and the bike would not shift into first gear. Finally, after getting the bike into neutral at a stop, the hand lever felt very stiff and would not budge.
Todd Haven (that nice guy- pay no attention to what Mike says) what absolutely right in diagnosing my clutch problem- the fasteners holding the clutch command cylinder in place were flange head screws (should have been flatheads). Two had already backed out and the third was on its way. Thank you Luigi!
I refastened the command cylinder and bled the system. The clutch hand lever felt like wood and would not budge once I bled the system. In essence, it felt like the piston in the command cylinder was fully extended when at rest. I removed the command cylinder.
the piston in the command cylinder was loose along with what appears to be a return spring. The clutch control cylinder (see photo) appears to be more or less flush with the housing. This doesn't seem right. Could it be that the control cylinder is hung up inside the housing- or does this look normal? If it is hung up, I assume that I'm looking at dropping the swingarm and tearing the whole mess apart.
Thanks so much for your continued support..
