Hi All, just wanted a bit of advice before i attempt to remove this rusty little beast from my Brevas engine. Is it better to remove the inner plug when the engine is hot or cold? It dosnt look like they have been changed in many years. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I can only imagine that you are talking about a twin plug head ?
Could it be that a previous owner didn’t know there were two plugs per cylinder !

We have had experience with snapped plugs in the past and it’s NOT pleasant !

Penetrating oil (s) ?
+ Maybe a few heat cycles, and a few gentle attempts to loosen, tighten it, to get a little movement.
Be careful to blow / clean out any flammable lubrication you use while trying to get that plug out !
The last thing you need is a Fire !!!

Good Luck
Don

Although she is rusted on the outside, the inner threads of the spark plug are coated and should just release easily. If not, a little spray of penetrating lubricant and a little wait to let it soak in, and you should be right as rain.

Everything Don says above is vey good advice.
