Kathi and I looked at the "My Trip to the Alps" report and her reaction was, "How do you put your ride slideshows up after that sort of gorgeous travelogue?"
Well, I have to agree that the stunning scenery in that and many others make most of my rides pale, and I sure wish we could revisit some of those European roads on two wheels while I can still enjoy them at unsafe speeds.
Still, as I also appreciate the mellow beauty of the USA's rural southeast roads, I'll post something of the ride up to and back from the recent Kentucky Guzzi rally.
The gathering place was a campground on the banks of the Kentucky River just north of Frankfort, Kentucky, i.e., in the middle of the Bluegrass horse (and bourbon) country. See, e.g., http://www.bluegrasskentucky.com/ & http://www.kentuckytourism.com/explore/regions/bluegrass_region.aspx.
I went to school at the University of Kentucky, but only rarely get back, so this was a nice way to bring back some old memories ... and make some new ones.
