It's been raining in our part of Florida every day for a week for that matter the whole state, showers and thunder storms at some part of the day is the norm, that did not stop 13 intrepid souls on 10 bikes, 9 Guzzi's to show up for our lunch ride in. 4 of us left from the West Coast under partly sunny sky's after a good breakfast. Until about 20 miles from our destination it looked like we were going to make without any rain, running down rte 40 through the Ocala National Forrest it became apparent that was not to be. Ten miles out we pull over to the shoulder and engage in the rain suit dance on the shoulder of the road. Two miles down the road we run into one of the most hellatious rain storms I have ever run in on 2 wheels, 3-4 miles later we run out of it, the rain held off at the restaurant for some tire kicking out side. The restaurant had reserved a room for us so we were able to just sit and BS and whatnot before taking our orders. Food and service were great and the meals came out together. If you ever find your self on State Route 40 and the St. Johns river stop in "The BlackWater Inn" In rained a little while we were eating but stopped by the time it was ready to leave. The rain held off until I got back into my home county about 10 miles from home I got to ride in my 2nd most hellatious rain storm on 2 wheels
Thanks to all who showed up and LET's DO IT AGAIN !
As a side note I was running in some standing water today and never felt any hydroplaning the Norge was rock solid on the road, I see no reason not to get another set of Road Smarts when the time comes.
