I just got back from a short run on the ev, it was missing and spitting and sputtering. Would not accelerate after I went thru the gears. It ran clean thru the gears, I backed off for a slow area, then when I gave it the gas to accelerate it started spittin and sputtering. Any thoughts? I have replaced the mufflers to minstrals, and put a clear h pipe in it. The minstrals are open.

Did you change mufflers/H-pipe shortly before the problem began? If done some time ago, almost for sure irrelevant. Did you refuel shortly before the problem began? Or had the bike been sitting for an extended period? Did you make any changes or do any sort of service just prior to the problem appearing?

I changed the pipe and muffs this winter, probably got 100 miles on it. Possible burnt valve or piston. Check today

Try a leak down test. If everything there is OK, it could be a bad fuel, faulty injector, fuel pressure regulator, or even a defective ECU (least likely but can happen). If you suspect the injectors, these guys do a great job re-conditioning them. http://www.rceng.com/

Just did a compression test; 130 left 150 right

Now you know you have a problem. Leak down can tell if it is valves or rings. Or just bite the bullet and do the valves and rings on both sides. How may miles are on the bike?

10k. When I start it it idles fine for say 5 seconds, then starts sputtering and dies

WOW, 10K is very early for this type of failure. When you take it apart to correct please let us know what you find. BTW, you did do the compression test with the throttle at wide open? Also the leak down test will tell you if it is a valve or ring problem. It will even let you know which valve.

Well I don't have a leak down tester. I did check both with WOT. I've never used a LDT, would Seasrs have such an animal?

Not sure, but Harbor Freight does, inexpensive too. It also helps to have a mechanics stethoscope so you can pinpoint where the air is escaping.
