Moto Guzzi V100 Review & First Impressions

I had a test ride on the base v100 this week and the suspension was the only disappointment, although I'm sure with time the settings can be adjusted to suit. The preload adjuster knob on the rear is handy, but I couldn't see how to adjust the damping on it.
Only the rebound is adjustable as far as damping. Usually on the lower part of the shock. Always a guess when sag and rebound have not been set for the rider, not to mention rider weight and spring weight being correct. I have seen that difference on my own current bikes after suspension changes and am now a believer in correct suspension settings. Very big difference between kawasaki stock shock for example and something like remote reservoir compression, rebound, preload, and ride height adjustable shocks in the K-tech Ohlins or Nitron category.

Find that mock up in the side room at the factory

HI Chris, I'm really curious what you think about the wind management with the adjustable windscreen! Are you finding any buffeting from the stock windscreen or is that doing well? What is your height also would be helpful. Was out this past weekend on my sons V85TT. I really do enjoy riding that bike as well. Getting closer all the time to putting an order in for a V 100.

The V100 is really growing on me, but I'm not in the market for a brand new bike at the moment, so it will be interesting to watch how the first couple years of this drivetrain and model develop (bugs, enhancements, etc), and perhaps see what other variants such as maybe a new Lemans and Stelvio (already teased by MG) are introduced using this platform

One very minor nit I have with the production version of the V100 is that I prefer the colors of the wheels and exhaust on the promotional bike, where the S had the gold wheels and black exhaust heat-shields. But those are minor things, and something an owner could modify if desired.

The reviews so far for the V100 seem to be uniformly very positive!
