Only the rebound is adjustable as far as damping. Usually on the lower part of the shock. Always a guess when sag and rebound have not been set for the rider, not to mention rider weight and spring weight being correct. I have seen that difference on my own current bikes after suspension changes and am now a believer in correct suspension settings. Very big difference between kawasaki stock shock for example and something like remote reservoir compression, rebound, preload, and ride height adjustable shocks in the K-tech Ohlins or Nitron category.I had a test ride on the base v100 this week and the suspension was the only disappointment, although I'm sure with time the settings can be adjusted to suit. The preload adjuster knob on the rear is handy, but I couldn't see how to adjust the damping on it.
