I just returned from an 1848-mile ride up into the furnace of N CA, NV and central OR., and all I can say is that I have no regrets about my purchase, of the Madello S. I didn't baby the bike during the ride & it was always ambient HOT. I kept my eye on the temp gauge early, but then grew confident that all was well there. The bike handled the hot temps much better than the rider.
After I purchased the bike from the great guys at Munroe Motors, I did more than a few local rides to set the suspension to what I felt was right for me...plus set the high beam so it would be useful if I had to do some night riding (not something that I planned on...but you never know)... it was way high as delivered to be of any use other than star gazing, so other riders might have the same issue & should check.
No oil consumption noted, engine pulls strong & no issues during a 90+ ride up into John Day to get to my check to my check in time. Bike is rock solid at speed for me.
Things I liked (or not)...
....the fairing set on low for my height (6') was the best.
... the gauge cluster was set for 20-year-old eyes. Hopefully I can enlarge the RPM numbers.
... I still fumble through all the programs, but I'm a Neanderthal when it comes to that shit.
... Tires are great as far as I am concerned. No issues there.
...gearbox once I had some miles on it was super smooth, I haven't tried the no lift shift program yet....I am old school & love rowing through the gears..up & down. I will advance into the no lift soon though.
...still have to do a thorough post ride check and clean, but I didn't have any issues with that Cat bolt that has caused some issues.

Hopefully this report helps.

An excellent ride report; Thank you for sharing.

Is it possible to increase the display ‘font size’ ?

I have the same question re: the font size. I am hoping that the diagnostic tool (mentioned & under research on a separate thread here) will allow us to modify the font size. I sure would like the RPM to be more distinct.

Hi Tonerjockey.
I'm sure you understood that was my first long ride on the new Moto Guzzi.
Now my very first long ride was in 1979 on my 77 750F Honda. From Toronto across the Trans Canada out to Vancouver, then down the west coast USA to San Diego....... bummed around La Jolla until October, then had to head back asap to the great white north.
First night stay in Las Cruces. Second night Oklahoma City. Third night Indianapolis & was home the next night.

I was worried about hitting shitty weather but didn't really see a cloud until Detroit. All boring Interstates, but needed to boogie. Old Honda ran great, but I would take my new Mandello S in a heartbeat.

I had to google the Eldorado to get a picture in my head of what you rode out to CA...... Good on ya mate:).
While still living in Canada I would take off in Sept and ride down the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway down into Tennessee and out to Wilmington NC......thinking that I was on an adventure, but then met an older couple at one of the lookouts up there. They showed interest in my ride, but they told me that they rode an Indian up to Edmonton Alberta on their honeymoon in 1936....damn, I was humbled.
All great memories each long ride.

Regards
