For the last few weeks I kept thinking that the roads around Leicestershire have got worse. Over the last 2 days the bike really thumped off the centre stand as if it was going down from a great height and it felt as if every little pothole was sent straight up the spine to chatter my teeth. Today I thought that the bike was sitting lower.

My first thought was - new shock.

I looked at the linkage

but did not notice anything. If I had opened Todd's shock replacement thread before I would have noticed that it should have looked differently. I measured the sag with my son sitting on it. It was 0 cm, no sag.
So I started to unbolt the linkage, removed the conrod and noticed that the lower shock bolt had worked itself out and had jammed the conrod linkage. There was NO nut on the exhaust side of the lower shock bolt..... lost???
As I had everything apart I greased the needle bearings and checked on the torque settings.
I torqued everything up again. I checked in a parts diagram. It does not show a nut for the lower shock bolt. Is this correct? Do people here also not have a nut securing this bolt? The other 3 nuts are self locking.
