I'm new to Moto Guzzi (been riding a Ninja for a while), and I just bought a 2012 V7r.
I went to pick it up from the dealer, and just as I was about to ride off, a loud scream started coming from the engine.
Apparently there is something wrong with the clutch, so the dealer took it away for fixing (oh so close to riding it, argh). Looks like 2 weeks of waiting for parts to arrive. Damn.
I don't mind working on my own bike, and MG seems ideal for that, but I'm a complete newbie having been riding an appliance for so long. I can change the oil, but that's about it. My plan is to buy a copy of Guzzology, and teach myself how to service and look after my own bike (my new v7r!).
So, assuming the previous owner didn't do anything, or didn't know what they were dong, what should I be checking to start with when I finally get my v7r? T
I gather that the clutch is wrecked because the previous owner didn't leave enough play in the clutch (if my research in this forum is right).
What else should I check/change when I finally get it? It has around 4200km on it (about 2600 miles -I'm in Australia).
I'm a newbie, so sorry if I sound a bit naive, so for example should I change all the fluids?
