Is there no spanner in the tool kit for removing the rear wheel locknut? 🙁
I like your sarcasm. The days of factory tool kits with enough tools to make emergency roadside repairs are long gone. My V85TT came with two hex key wrenches (to remove the tool tray and side covers for access to the battery and air filter), a spanner to adjust rear shock spring preload, and a nice plastic pouch. The bike also has a USB port to charge a mobile phone in order to call for a tow. At least the pouch is big enough to add a multi-bit screwdriver and a pair of pliers along with a ziplock bag containing the registration and insurance paperwork.

Actually, I was being serious. This trend towards “side of the road repairs” being nothing more than pulling out your credit card and calling a flatbed tow truck for everything, is just insufferable to me.

A tad wreckless on the public roads don’t you think? 144mph?!?
Given that I am from San Diego, for the life of me I cannot think where you got up to that speed at all without major attention except perhaps Montezuma Highway.
You have forgotten. TONS of roads inland SD Co do it. I’m more concerned now with Steve’s comment above.

Again, I was being serious! Wow. Just wow.
The newer bikes come with a red pouch with a plastic reversible screwdriver, and allen wrench or two (the V85TT has molded slots in the tray those live), and a shock preload tool. That’s about it, not kidding.

Trying to figure out why @C. Dolan is ignoring my questions?

Oh I can imagine. I know every road in San Diego County. Still 144mph is really incredibly reckless and completely disregarding of public safety and other human beings entirely and not something I think worth bragging or acting bravado about.

That’s what track days are for.

When I ran with CW Mag, we terrorized all of SoCal on public streets in the name of "testing" -- including top speed testing out in Lancaster. ;)
It’s kind of the norm on the weekends here now, and even on the freeways daily. Damn kids. Ha.

Nobody else on the road.

That's an impressive speed for a new machine. I can't wait to uncork one and feed it some fuel. I have a dyno at my shop if you're curious.
See my other questions above.

Was at 9000 rpm redline, so that may be all that's available.
Where's your shop at ?
