• Ciao Guest, The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com lost his home completely on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone in this horrific disaster.

Hi,

This year’s winter project is a pile of parts that approximate a 1982 V50III which was being converted into a vintage track bike before the project was abandoned.

It has…. issues, and I am missing a few parts. So expect stupid questions and begging for parts. Because it’s too far gone for a proper restoration I am thinking of a Dutch V50 NATO “replica”, flat green paint is easy…

Thanks!

Welcome Daniel, It's a more technical forum here, more info if you look for it. You got that tranny together yet?

Hey Steve!

No, not quite. The rear cover I have is from a V65. It takes a different bearing on the layshaft and I have to adapt something. I could use the V65 gearset that I have but I don’t want the taller gearing for the roads around here (tight and twisty). I’m going to a friend today who has a better lathe than mine to work on that.

If you want to save yourself a lot of work and headaches, there's a low mileage V50II for small money on BaT.
It's in Huntsville, Alabama.

Thou shall not use BaT and small money in the same sentence!
But, no, I actually enjoy the puzzle and the setbacks that come with it.

Guys, this isn't social media, nor the section to discuss the OPs needs.

Fun, please add your info to our Registry below. Always fun to have any of the previous owners name(s) and location as well if you have them. Enjoy the site. Cheers and HNY.
