Have a new to me 09 Norge. Beautiful bike, rides great. Been a Guzzisti since '87. Been thu a few Eldo's, T3, LeMans, SPIII, V50, N.Falcone and until I bought the Norge, my 'new' Guzzi was a '96 Carb Sport. My daily rider is a '72 Eldo I found in a field back in '87. Suffice to say this is a whole new ball game to me...

Bike idles well at about 1100rpm on cold start, but after that it sits a 2000. No idea how to adjust or what a 'stepper motor' is/does. I'm a competent wrench, but knew it would be an education to step into the 21st century.

Aiutomi per per piacere!

Furbo.
ps. yes I do have a gray beard and wear overalls.

I had a 2007 Norge with the same fast Idle problem. Several folks on this forum are expert in this subject and I hope they respond to you as well.

In any case, I recorded as much of their wisdom as I could in this text log file I kept online for my Norge and to help others.

Pay special attention to the "GUZZI 1151cc/1200cc NORGE BREVA SPORT GRISO REFERENCE FILES ON-LINE:" section.

An SFC?? 🤩 If you are a pro and working on it, you are doin good. If you are not, and you own it, you are doing great!!
My dealer had one in '83, sold to California. Never seen one since.

If your stepper is stuck in the cold start position (it is an electrical stepper motor driving a small variable air valve), it will give a correct cold start as you describe. As the engine warms up, it is supposed to reduce the idle air to the throttle bodies. If it cant move, it will supply too much air, and the motor will idle high. Clean and lube the valve (it is located between the throttle bodies), test the pins in the contact for continuity, (the motor is not serviceable to my knowledge), and don't touch the "sacred screw". Much has been written around here about these things. Read what you can find. You'll figure it out!
