When I bought my used Norge I took the top box off and stored it. Today I remounted it (the update was already done) but I can't remove the box now by turning the key to the left and pushing in. I would think that the box would just pop off - does it need a bang from the hand underneath to free the catch?

How did I mess up?

Help please before I get out the ball peen hammer. I'm frustrated enough from by broken fuel line connector.

When I bought my Norge new from Speaker's Cycle last year, I also bought the Guzzi top case for it at the same time. When the bike arrived after travelling across the country, I pleasantly discovered that the top case had already been mounted prior to be shipped. I had a hard time getting the thing off the first time but ever since that first time it comes off easier now. You just turn the key in the opposite direction from how you turn it to open/unlock the case, push hard and then lift the case upward from the back end.

Please review the following post if you haven't already, https://www.guzzitech.com/index.php?op ... 4&id=10063 , because even though it may seem like the top case is welded to the mount right now, it will fly off all by itself and become a worthless hunk of road rashed plastic if you don't bolt it directly to the mount somehow.

It could be that the latch is tight because of the rubber feet under the box. Try pressing down on the box with your third hand while pushing the button in.;)

Got it! Thanks for the help - pushing down and pushing the key in hard seemed to do the trick. I had read the articles on these things coming off on bumps and I'm working on a fix.

Just finished modifing the previously posted top box fix. I wanted to be able to remove the box easily and quickly. This took about 15 minutes, $9.00 worth of stainless hardware and a standard plated support bracket.

I figure that even if the thing loosens it will still be tough for the box to leave the bike. I'm off on a 2,000 + trip tomorrow and I didn't want to spend the entire time worrying about the luggage!

That should keep it attached to the mount Ralph. Good, cheap, and affective fix.
