Oil leak question?

Hello,
I could use a little help. My V100S has been back after the coolant issue and I have made it a point to show her some more love. I have a few amazing bikes and truly love riding this one. The last few rides I have noticed I smell burning oil when I get home and park in the garage. Tonight I decided to see if I could track it down but no luck. I did find proof she has a tiny leak/weep of some oil and it drips onto the cover for the exhaust pipe on the left side which explains the smell. I am going to try and post a picture.
Should I be concerned? I hate to take it to the dealer because they suck but none of my other bikes has any sort of leak and they are all relatively new. It’s under warranty and not leaking from the back of the engine casing. Oil changed by dealer almost 2000 miles ago.
Thoughts?

I have some traces of oil around that same place (3000 miles), but I am not overly worried. It is normal to have some drops of oil around the engine at the time of assembly.

I don’t know what is directly above the oil leak and tried to see with a flashlight and glasses. I would have to look at an engine diagram.

That is not what I am seeing. There are actual oil droplets falling onto the heat shield. I wiped it off and can smell the burning oil when I get home. This is NOT normal for a new modern bike. I have 3 more in my garage and they do not leak.

Could it be the well documented clutch seal leak which there is a technical service bulletin for? Do a forum search, it's a recent topic.

I read that one and do not think so. The clutch seal area from that thread is visible to me and dry as a bone.

I have had the same issue, traces of oil down the side of the engine, and small drops on the floor. Could see the dipstick was not screwed in100% so tried to tighten it but was stuck. Also tried to loosen it but was to tight to my liking. The bike is new so I went back to the shop so they could have a look. After a while the mechanic came back and asked me if I filled up engine oil. I told him, what do you think.. the bike has 500km on the clock. Then he showed me a video of how much oil came out after he removed the dipstick. There was way to much oil in the engine.
All sorted now and got an oil change, but I mainly wondered how serious these shops take the pre- delivery checks they are expected to do. Still very happy with the Mandello 😉

Per the owner manual, just be sure the bike was upright, not on the side stand, when the oil level was checked by the dealer.

Sir you are correct, just called the dealer and the guy said he had it on the side stand. So that explains why the oil came out. Thanks 👍🏻
Eh, you need to find a new mechanic. They should know better if they want to work on these.

Humans make mistakes. We learn that way.

I tend to be much more forgiving as I age because I realize just how many times I have made a mistake. I also never mastered walking on water or turning water into wine, so I would feel ashamed asking perfection of another when I am incapable of it myself.

Forgiveness is more kind anyway.

Well, best check your oil level again after they did the oil change...if they checked the level while on the side stand it is now underfilled by a a quart or more.

The engine may run fine but the clutch may overheat....there is MG Mandello design history behind this comment. Google is your friend.

He said he put in the correct amount, but I’ll go and check once I’m back from sea. Bike is actually going in for its first service next week, because the week after that we are going on a trip into Switzerland (hopefully without issues 🙄)

Can you expand on this please?
