My husband and I are getting ready to head out to the bike fest in seaside. I'm sitting on my idling Nevada waiting for hub to finish loading up and keep smelling oil. We had just changed to synthetic oil a few weeks ago and I knew it couildn't be spillage. So I look down at the right cylinder head next to the spark plug and oil is bubbling up and out on to the head cover. I also noticed that the soft plug that hides the hex bolt was missing. I shut it down and we called a Guzzi shop here in Oregon to see what was up. They told us it was some sort of tube in the cylinder that oil was coming up through it wouldn't lose much but to keep a close eye on the oil level. It sounds like they will have to tare into the engine to fix the problem. Then when we get home we're unloading the bikes from the trailor and the bracket that the passenger pegs attach to breaks off.
Did I make a mistake in buying A Guzzi? Are they built cheap? The bike is a 2008 and only has 3200k on the odometer. We also had to have the shifter replaced because the metal tore and the shifter fell off.
I like the bike a lot and am considering some up grades like staintune exhaust and a power commander but I don't want to invest in a lemon. Anyone had similar problems or incidents like this?
