Oil Leak

Anyone have any ideas.

Went for a 400 mile trip over the weekend. Parked the bike overnight and left on side stand and there was some oil on the floor, looks like it has dripped on the exhaust but if I put it on centre stand no oil leak. I did have a leak from the filter also, that had worked loose.

Tried to look and can't see where its coming from.

Sounds like the oil filter just the same - just not quite tight enough.

If it is one of the original 8 flute filters, these are known to cause this issue. The later filters don't do this, nor any of the other compatible filters, just the early ones, which could mean old stock.

Wheres the oil deposit situated on the floor?
If it's on left hand side of the bike (near the side stand) I'd suggest it's the LH rocker cover gasket causing the grief.(speaking from experience)

Thats what I thought but its all clean, it looks like it coming down near the brake pedal and hitting on the exhaust, just con't see where, could it be air filter box??

Finally managed to have a look at the bike. There is no breather tube hence the oil I think. It is coming out of box and dripping down.

Any idea where I can get one in the UK??

All you need is a couple feet of clear plastic tubing about 1/4 inch inside diameter. Also find one plug and two clamps for the ends (preferably spring type). Install in the bottom of the air box and run it down the right side of the bike to exit near the center stand. Trim to length. The tube should be drained of oil every now and then. See your owners manual.
