On my 09 Norge I have a Penske 8983 shock with a 950 spring..from Guzzitech... With the shock installed and the bike on the center stand the rear wheel isn't off the ground like it use to be...??? Makes it hard to change tires ect... I pulled the shock and measure the eyelet on the stock and the new shock and there the same....What gives

Sag wouldn't let the wheel drop lower. You say you measured the Eyelet. What does that mean? Did you measure the length of the shock from eyelet to eyelet and they were the same? Did you change tires in here anywhere? Are there any spacers missing in the bolt holes? If the shocks are the same length, It would be difficult for the wheel to be any lower.

Dan, what is likely two things; 1. The top out spring (or lack there-of) allows the Penske to lengthen more then the stocker, 2. The rear tire you currently have is taller then the original or last mounted.

Been running same tire since before I changed it... Wondering if it cause the shock has a 950 pound spring on it....??? Have any other customer had this issue....

Another factor would be any changes to the front forks. Stiffer springs or more preload would cause the front to sit higher and that would in turn make the rear lower when on the center stand.
If the shocks are the same length eye to eye when off the bike then there has to be something else like tire size, changes to the front suspension, or something heavy added to the rear of the bike like hard bags.

I installed a Matris kit with 1.15 springs in it before I added the new shock...But its only after adding the Penkse shock that I have the rear wheel dragging on the ground on the center stand... The rear of the bike seems higher to when on the side stand...

Dan

How about uploading a photo of the bottom of the shock, in case there are some irregularities there?

I can compare it to my Penske shock to see if mine is sitting differently.

Dan, yes, I forgot about the fork kit. GM nailed it, no longer is the front forks sagging under the weight of the bike, and the rear shock top out is likely doing it as well. You can add two small pads on the bottom of the center stand to make up for it, and is the bike upright enough now on the side stand to create concern? I've done a few here with no side stand issues, never checked the center stand.
