I thought the job of re-lacing the wheels wouldn’t present much of a problem, how wrong could I have been…
stripping down and cleaning isn’t an issue, however in their infinite wisdom MG have used metric spokes when the rest of the world (except BMW) use imperial. So there the problem… getting a supplier of metric replacement. Now the nipples and O-ring part isn’t a problem, as I have that sorted, it’s just finding someone who supplies metric spokes without having to pay the stupid price for originals. One solution maybe to convert them to imperial, ditch the O-ring type nipple and run tyres with tubes….. A1427149 9682 4F53 872E A2B1756A3EC8
 
I converted my Jackal (chromed steel rims) to tubeless (successfully) by using silicone inside the rim in the trough where the nipples reside. There should be some u-tube videos, one by Greg Field, who worked at Moto International in Seattle for some time.
My first attempt involved 3M 5200, a super tough marine sealant, but it would not adhere to the chrome, so it leaked. Overkill.
Silicone worked like a charm. The conversion gives you a chance to "keep the painted side up" during a flat, rather than the blow-out of a punctured innertube, which can be brutally fast.
I sold the bike a couple of years ago. It is still running on those tubeless wheels after quite a few years, and a tire change or two.
Could be an option......

The tubeless wheel system is by Alpina, and is not user serviceable. They used to have "certified/trained" field techs, which I knew of one in the U.S., which doesn't help you much. Are you trying to restore them, or just get them back together at this point? If the latter, the post above will work well for you.
I laced a 18 x 3.5 front for my NTX front, and a 5.5 x 17 rear and chemically sealed them. Superior to any other method outside of the Kineos I sell on the STORE tab above.

On my 2009 with Alpina wheels, I had three of the spokes develop slow leaks. I bought a dozen new spoke ends with o-rings and all (to have some extras), and as I remember, I just replaced the leaky ones with new ones and haven't had any leaks or air-loss since, and that's been years ago. Is it the complete respoking that's a hard thing?
