I recently stripped my rear drive level/fill port.

I was wondering if anyone knew the size and thread count of the hole?
I wanted to use the timesert fix but didn't know which kit to get, couldn't find the details in the manual.

Also what are the sizes for the the top and drain ports as well? M10 x 1?

Measure the plug. If you don't have a thread gauge take it to someone who does. I also suggest you have the repair done at a machine shop so that the hole and threads will be square to the case. To do this job correctly the rear drive needs to be removed and disassembled. Also a helicoil might be better as the time sert may be too long for this application.

The level/fill plug is 20x1 (same pitch lined up w/drain bolt) drain bolt is 10x1. If drain bolt fits in where vent is, there you have it.
Like John said, you have to strip the box. The tap will hit the ring gear before it is tapped.
This is the same fill plug & drain used on Big Block rear drives and 5 speed tranies both Big Block & Small Block. The fill/level plug is the same as cap in head of Big Blocks to cover up top cyl stud.
You could just take it to Todd's shop and have it done.

Thank you for your replies, this is exactly the information i was looking for.
