Hi guys,
I'm waiting on replacement parts for my Breva11, since my wires have corroded inside the caps.
Oddly, quality resistor caps seem to be out of stock everywhere, leading a long wait time. So, I've been doing some reading on alternatives.
I've read that you should generally use either resistor caps or plugs, but not both, for noise suppression to keep your bike electronics happy. Also, that the main advantage of carbon core wires versus copper core is additional noise suppression. But my Breva has carbon wires (I think:?), resistor plugs, AND resistor caps.
So our CARC bikes apparently use all three methods? Do we have to? Normally I wouldn't trouble myself, and just replace like for like... but I'm getting a bit desparate.
Also, all of the Guzzi parts suppliers seem to recommend copper core wire as a replacement to avoid precisely the issue I'm having, do I have to worry about any additional noise?
Thanks in advance
