What is the real difference between them?

Today, a sales person told me that the difference is that the latter are more easily adjustable and that the former require "special tools" for adjustment.

Given that I intend to ride almost exclusively one-up, I'm not sure, if this is the only difference, why I would need shocks that are more easily adjustable, assuming that that is indeed all there is to this.

Comments appreciated.

They all require the special tool to adjust preload. The Racer has a rebound adjustment. That's it.

Now if you are serious about setting up the suspension, you'll throw it all away anyway.

I'm trying to identify which Bitubo rear shocks are on the Special and Racer.

Some sources, including some comments in this forum, say that the Bitubo part is
WMY 01. However, this part does not exist in Bitubo's catalogue.

For the older V7 Classic and Café, Bitubo specifies part WMT 02, which does look a lot like this part at AF1 Racing: http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/ ... duct=45790

Does anyone know the correct Bitubo part number?

Thanks.

The Special doesn't have the BiTurbos - only the Racer. Mine are long gone.

Just looked at the specs again. You're quite right.

Would still like to know what Bitubo part number is on the racer. I contacted AF1, but they don't have the part in stock, so can't look at it, and only have the Piaggio part number, which is not the same.

If I understand your earlier posts about the Bitubo, you found it too stiff. What did you replace it with?

Gazi SportX from Todd ("Store" tab above). They were ordered with the proper spring for my weight. Both free and dynamic (race) sag are now within acceptable limits and the shock is comfortable.
