• Ciao Guest, The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com lost his home completely on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone in this horrific disaster.

Re: My 2007 Norge 1200

Last week, without any cause I'm aware of, the service light came on, and I believe the text said service. Well, service what? Nothing happened that I am aware of caused the problem, and it runs the same after the light came on as before. But I parked it until I could get some answers.

The owner's manual and full shop manual weren't much help. Will the generality of code readers used for cars have an adapter, and will it read a Motor Guzzi 2007?

I can do some basic stuff on a bike, but technical issues escape me. So, please be gentle.

Thanks,

Ed

Is there a wrench on the dash, that what you are talking about or the red triangle?
The dash stores the active and past codes, use the left handlebar switch to flip through the menu's, enter the service code for Norge and you're in.

I tried that, but here's my problem. About a year ago my one key broke and I had to have a new one with the code from the old key in it. When he did that he made two identical keys, so when you try the default code it doesn't work because somebody must have set a code Once Upon a Time. The shop manual seems to indicate there is no other way to get into it. Just so you understand again let me say, when it asks me for the second key as verification I put it in but it isn't the second K it thinks it's the same key.

Can a regular car code reader read Moto Guzzi codes? If so is an adapter available? Any other ideas?

Have a great day.

Thanks so much for your reply. I mean both of you so far.

Ed

I owned a 2007 Norge and loved it, although it was plagued with electrical gremlins, including the red service light that frequently came on as you mentioned.

Some 2007 Norge have had oil pump failures, but not mine: The Prescott, AZ, Guzzi dealer verified that I had the specified engine oil pressure so I stopped worrying about the annoying service light.
