Just got it firing!
I'm still in the break-in period of my new Audace, and I'm enjoying the bike very, very much.
Except for one troubling little detail: there is a semi-regular "thudding" or "popping" coming from under the bike. It's not a sound, just a feeling. I've tried to connect it with riding conditions or gear or RPM or...anything, but it seems random, though it does seem to increase in frequency once I've been on the road a while. It feels as if a large kicked-up stone has struck the oil pan, or something vaguely like that.
I've been riding for twenty years, and have ridden dozens of different bikes during that time. I've never experienced this phenomenon, though. I'm due for my 1000-mile service pretty soon, and maybe the guys at the shop can shed some light.
Anyone--is this a "thing" on these bikes? Ideas?
