My v100 is new to me…working on my low speed parking lot skills…I’ve dropped the bike a few times doing slow u-turns (saved by crash bars each time). After standing the bike upright , it won’t crank for at least 5 mins. The orange engine light comes on. No amount of turning the bike on and off again with the key does anything to help. So I just wait…then after about five minutes it cranks and starts right away but the engine light stays on for about 24hrs. Any way I can get it started faster after a tip over??

I don't have an answer for the non-starting issue, but good for you for practicing low speed maneuvering even at the cost of a tip over on your new bike.

You'll be a better rider for it.

Not sure if the manual says anything on this, but tip-overs should be a key off/on process. Some take 15~30 seconds max with the key off. Try off/on a few times if not. If this doesn’t work, have the switch replaced, or confirm with a dealer this is normal (it is not).

That’s One of the first things I noticed on my new V 100 S last spring is the restricted turning radius, at very slow speeds in a parking lot doing tight turns ,once you hit the steering stop, the bike immediately wants to fall in,unless your aware of this , you will probably fall, it happens very quickly,I’m guessing that’s what happened to this gentleman,V100 owners need to be aware of this, in very tight slow turns, ride the rear brake and keep the powertrain loaded with throttle and don’t turn so tight that you hit the steering stops. I find this a design flaw in the chassis of this otherwise great bike.

If any of you have new insight I’d appreciate it. The dealer is telling me it’s normal for there to be a 5min wait after tip. I find this impossible. Any recommendation?

See my comment above. Demand they replace it. You can waste your time and call Piaggio Customer Support in NY and ask/complain.

Thanks for the reply and advice. I have them looking for the part. Now they are having trouble “finding” it. Sigh. Called the other Guzzi dealer in town. They said the same thing to me. Can’t replace it under warranty if it doesn’t throw any codes and that it’s normal for it to take 5 mins for the sensor to reset. Good grief.
