Just got it firing!
I am investigating a way to reduce the handlebar width of my soon-to-be-purchased V100 Mandello S. This is because I will have to ride it regularly for about 30 yards along a narrow passageway to get to my workshop. There is abrasive brickwork on either side of the passage (it’s in an ancient part of England and the brickwork can’t be altered). At present I ride/ manoeuvre a BMW R1100S along this passageway (having first retracted the mirrors) but the clearance on either side of the handlebars is still minimal; over the years I have scuffed the bar-ends on several occasions. I reckon the tip-to-tip width of the Guzzi bars (mirrors retracted) to be approx 82cm which is 5cm or so more than the BMW so a problem awaits. A first thought is to remove the anti-vibration bar-ends to give more clearance. Does anyone have any experience of removing the bar-ends and what, if any, the impact is on vibration? Or, are there narrower bars? All suggestions most welcome! Thanks.
