v7 classic rim / tyre sizes

hi all,
I'm thinking of putting alloy rims on my v7 classic and have a few questions

- What rim sizes should I go for, bigger or standard ? Standard are 2.5' and 3.0' bearing in mind the v7 racer has stuck with the same sizes?
- Should I go for a 17' front rim ? quicker steering, sleeker look, better tyre choice.

- Tyres - if I go for 17' front and the same rim widths I'm thinking of going for a 140/70 rear pirelli demon sport as per the v7 clubman/racer and a 110/80 front - the v7 clubman went with a 100/90 front which gives a 90mm width, a 110/80 gives 88. Or should I go for different tyres ?

Any ideas...

I'd be surprised if they're not 750 Breva wheels, as I think the wee Breva is basically the same chassis as the V7. Wide tyres make steering worse and are more prone to losing grip in the wet; the only point of them if for handling big power, which isn't an issue here. Breva tyre sizes have been tested to work with the chassis and engine.

If it make you feel better, I used to have a 1986 VFR750, which was a lot heavier than a V7 and made 100bhp, and that had a 130 section rear tyre.
 
I really, really like the look of that Corsa V7 with those wheels. Hard to pass up spokes, though. I guess the grass is always greener. Those without spokes, want them. I'm think of PC'ing my rims black over the winter. However, re-lacing them seems like a daunting task for a novice.

And the frames are all the same for all smallblocks since anno dazumal - or at last since 2003, proably earlier.

Yep.
But delivered in an obscure brownish or later silver color as OEM. The black ones shown must have been painted somehow. I think I've seen the pic before, and will remember they were powder coated.
