V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

I literally bought it from a little old lady. She is 60 and has 11 bikes. She bought the V7 new from the dealer. Soon after getting it she was sitting at a stop light in her jeep. She had her head turned and was talking to her spouse in the passenger seat. They got hit from behind. Her neck and upper spine have never fully healed so she is finally giving in and selling the lean forward sport bikes from her collection.
11 !!!
Did you get n Inventory ?

CT is not far from OH—this sounds like an opportunity for Scott to add to his fleet! I would certainly be interested in looking at the inventory for sale if I were on that side of the country.

Although, I outgrew my /2 fascination many decades ago…

However, I’ve been put on “notice”. No new dogs, motorcycles, or guitars!

I doubt that I will comply for long…😝

Seems as good a time as any to add my bike: three years after purchase, after countless upgrades from GT, and after the engine seized (looks as though it may have fallen victim to the missing thrust bearing issue that's documented on the forum). I only have 11,000 miles on it so far, and once I get a new engine - either from Piaggio if they step up, or if I have to pay for a new one - I look forward to MANY more.

2011 V7 Racer VIN: ZGULWC02XBM100050
My sister passed away last June and I am now in possession of her bike. She lived in San Francisco and bought it new at Munroe Motors. She is the one who got me in to bikes by selling her first bike to me, a ‘78 Yamaha XS400. I was so excited for her when she bought the really cool V7 and now I’ll keep it so I can keep a little part of her and always loved cafe racer styled bikes. I rode the Guzzi 1,600 miles back to southwest North Dakota where it joins a 02’ Suzuki SV650, ‘94 Honda Goldwing, ‘88 Honda Hawk GT and ‘83 Honda XR350R.

John, thanks so much for posting this info here, and would've loved to meet your sister. Can we list her name as the original owner?
Welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia here. Hope to see you here often. Happy to be of help here or via email you sent to previously.

Hello, my first post! I bought a 2013 V7 Special with 7,500 miles recently. Found out after purchase that it wasn't charging battery at all. After researching some things, I ordered a voltage regulator/rectifier from RMSTATOR which I installed today. I also took apart the stator and cleaned it up last week. Now, multimeter shows about 13.5+- volts at 3,000 rpm. Absolutely love the bike. I've been riding for almost 40 years and have owned many bikes, but this is my first Moto Guzzi.

The bike in the background is my 1968 BSA Royal Star (500cc parallel twin), which I have owned for a while. It is mostly restored.

Sure, her name was Anne Rickertsen

Thanks. I was hoping I had met her, but I don't think I did.
I raced the Hawk GT in the early 90s. Still upsetting that Suzuki made the SV650 instead of Honda. Fun to see them lined up like that, but the V7 is the original-original lightweight twin. Enjoy.

Congrats and welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. I moved your post to this thread with all of the other owners. Love to get your VIN# and related info for the first post of this thread.
I stock a ton of parts on the STORE tab above you may need, so be sure to peruse it when you need anything... and be sure to read the three scrolling paragraphs above. It helps us all, including you. Hope to see you here (and posting) often! Enjoy!

More info, she bought the bike on 10/12/2011 at Munroe Motors in SF.

Love the SV, twice the power and handles better than the Hawk. But there is just something really special about the Hawk and I was also very disappointed Honda never gave us an update. I should note the Hawk is my wife’s bike and is never being sold. The Guzzi is really growing on me too, a joy to ride and beautiful to look at.
