Hi all, just charged the battery after sitting for winter and it’s screwed, according to my optimate. I’m pretty sure this is the 2nd one but can’t remember, so wondering if this is a known issue?

It’s a Yuasa YTX14-BS
Is there a better replacement?

Check out the lithium batteries sold in the GTM Store. Lithium batteries tolerate being deeply discharged better than lead acid (either flooded or AGM sealed).

The standard battery is fine if a trickle charger is used when stored.

Hi Chris, Batteries are exhaustively talked about here. Try a search before starting a new thread, and please search and post in the correct section. AGMs last 1-2 years or so on average these days. Click on the STORE tab above and sort for what's recommend.

Hey Chris, just did the exact same thing with the same model of battery. Bought it new last July, has a dead cell this year. Store replaced it under warranty but I'll probably investigate lithium batteries going forward

NEVER let your battery set uncharged for too long as sulfation will prevent charging it. i have 3 bikes + they get a charge from my C-Teck monthly, one is OE in a 13 Victory Hammer i want to sell with 11 thou on it, the others an 18 + 19 triumph also OE batteries!!
