Hello, I am considering a Givi A650 unit for my V7c. Are there any other, better suggestions? Or any success stories? I am looking for a medium size screen, not a flyscreen, but also not as big as, say, the National Plexifairing 3. Ease of mounting is a concern. I have just ordered a Stucchi rear rack, in chrome, from MG Cycle.

Alan, the Breva 750 screen should fit. They should be fairly inexpensive by now. I got one for AU$100 at a dealer clearance.

I have a plexifairing GT fitted to my Breva, smaller than the Plexifairing 3. Keeps the hands warm, some wind noise but no turbulance. Easy to remove and fit. There is also the Plexifairing 2. These are all shown on National Cycles Website. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Colin - you are from Newbury? I have relatives who live on Essex Street, also named Colin, also owns a MG, although I think that it is in pieces in the "milk shed". I like the Newbury area, and loved the Crofton Beam engines, which were "in steam" when we visited (2006), and also the Caen Hill Flight.

Thanks for the GT suggestion.

I'll vouch for the Plexifairing GT. Excellent coverage and removes in a jiffy. Best of both worlds.

In reply to Allan L. Yes I live near Newbury, UK. Glad you like the area and have relatives here! It is a small World as they say.
best wishes Colin

Alan L. here - thanks to all for suggestions. I have ordered a Plexifairing GT for my bike. It will be picked up for me in the US sometime within the next couple of weeks, and brought across the border by a friend. I also bought an alloy alternator cover (vanity, I know) and a Stucchi rear rack in chrome, and some oil filters, these from MG Cycle. I guess that having a KLR650 with virtually nothing on it that shines is getting to me.

Did you use any specific mounting kit?

Thanks,
Jay

When I still had a V7C, I installed the MG windscreen for the Nevada 750 - it was a perfect fit in terms hardware, mounting points etc.

here is how it looked on my V7C

Greyo -- thanks for the info! Even if I don't get that one, I now know that Windshields made for the Nevada will likely also fit the V7C. I've seen several windshields that list the Nevada as being compatible, but the V7C isn't listed. The Nevada has been around longer, so I guess this makes sense.
