I have done a search for my small query but nothing seems to be related. In fact, this question is what made me look for a discussion forum or atircle in order for me to join and ask and apparently this is the motherload of Guzzi knowladge.

I had my V85TT Centenario for a year now, everything is stock minus two things.
I switch the foot pegs for some pivot pegs, They are wider, and have the option of taking off a plastic cover and reveal "teeth" for a better off road grip experience and also allow me to stand on the bike a easier. The other thing I changed was when I bought the motorcycle I asked for the tires to be changed for the Adventure ones.

But in all honesty I dont see how these minor changes are affecting my MPG or if I just don't know how to ride correctly. (Since its the first bike I own)

My current MPG after 3,593 miles is 23.8MPG...

I never taken it off road since I am dreading a fall and banging up my Guzzi, so its mostly seen tarmac action, with a few sprinkles of dirt patches here an there.
My avg speed on the highway is 70-75 mph since anything lower than that oddly enough seems slower than anything else at the same speed. Even in CC I get below avrg. MPG. I am no speed devil nor do I have a thirst to splat on the road.

The only thing I can think of is that I use to do "line" in order to go to work daily. It would be a stop and go from anywhere from 15 min to 1 hr. But then again, I would shut down my bike duirng periods longer than 10 sec "standing" still. But that does mean MANY start ups in a short span of time.

When and If I take my bike off road for real, I know I am going to be slowing down the pack form inexperience and the fear of dropping the bike, which is fine. But I don't want it to be for the guy that needs to make frequent stops or with 3 gas tanks since I dont average up to other bikes

Any Ideas of what gives? Is it as simple as user error? Faulty sensor? Wrong Gas (I use 91)? Maybe I just too overweight?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TL DR; My MPG is 23.8M anyone else gets this low MPG?

Appologise for the blury pic, I bought a Screen Protector for the dash and it makes it look hazy when taking pictures.

I remeber when I bought the bike it would give me 250 MPT when Full, now it only states 150....

Aiuto per favore!

I notice that the avg MPG display is usually lower than actual calculated from distance traveled divided by gallons burned. I am averaging over 50 mpg (actual) in a little over 6,000 miles since buying my Centenario new in May 2021. Higher speeds do reduce mileage, but you should get over 45 mpg at 70 or 75 mph. I have kept the 3-piece adventure luggage on it most of the time. I generally use premium gasoline (oxygenated blends in Phoenix are similar to California clean air blends).

I would check the spark plug color/conditions, check valve clearance, and check for diagnostic trouble codes.

In addition to Gerry's words above, city riding will inevitably lower MPGs. Riding style can impact it as well. As a long shot, something could certainly be amiss, but I would hope GP would've caught it. I'd have to ride it to tell you otherwise, and these types of things are virtually impossible to diagnose here. Use math calculations for consumption instead of the dash. I hate that they show these... it's been a proverbial thorn in my side since it surfaced.

I'll see what I can do about it, since I recently got it back from the shop from a full inspection. I had some weird trouble in the past where a spark plug had its insulator blow straight of the central electrode and the metal housing cracked all around and came clean off when I touched it. The movement of the cylinders and the detonations, was enough to move it up an down causing the missfire.

Luckly enough none of the ceramic insulation fell inside the engine, which caused me to send it into service and had those things check out.

When riding does your current fuel consumption how as 45 mpg or higher?

Well there you go. Something was/is wrong. Do the math, and if it is that low, take it back to GP or bring it up to my shop (with an appointment only). Also, these motors take 10k miles to fully "bed-in."

That would be my fault as I never brought this up to them, or gave them any hints the reading might be off.

My thought was the standing still and turning on and off again that I was doing on a daily basis for about 11 months was what might affect it.

I might reset Trip A or B and see if I get any different reading for a "Fresh" start.

Thanks for the recomendation.
If my resetting trip odometer dosn't give me a satisfactory reading I'll do just that.

What is your actual MPG when you divide miles driven by the amount of fuel on each fill-up?
That is something on I am planing on working on. I have a week vacation coming up, and once I get back I'll reset my Trip info and verify it against w/e comes up on pen and paper from a fill up.

Fwiw, my 2020 was accurate for about 5000 miles. Then it started reading 20% off from then on.
Sad to hear but it kind of puts me slightly at ease I'm not the only one experiencing this type of inaccuracy.

I will definatly report back after my week vacation with numbers.

Happy Holidays to all, and have a Happy New Year!
