I searched but failed.

Measurements in mm

V85TT Euro 5. Factory manual states 0.1 in 0.15 ex

I saw a video, maybe from someone here that said better aim for 0.12 in and 0.17 ex

Old small blocks are usually 0.15 in and 0.20 ex I believe

I wonder if the new smaller clearances are to try and quieten the engine a little more.

What do the experts do?

Was wondering the same. For what it’s worth, both my 21 V85TT and 22 V7850 spec .10 intake / .15 exhaust under the seat. EF463CD1-E6CA-4D66-8804-755592FED430.jpeg
 
Nor do I on my V7 850. I think Piaggio doesn’t want us to service our bikes; I believe the law in the States allows home servicing without voiding the warranty.
 
All done, nice easy job...so much easier than my previous speed triple!!

Feel like I'm starting to bond with the bike now!

In the USA we have the “Moss act” basically we can service our bikes/ cars using any brand maintenance products without losing warranty.
We have to take our bikes to the dealer for service, get a stamp in the book, then bring them home and do the job properly 😁

My old Speedy only saw the dealer twice excluding MoT test ( annual inspection for roadworthiness).

Every single item on the Triumph service schedule was done with a photographic history and all receipts and mileages logged. Fetched a very respectable price when the time came.

Fortunately I didn't have any warranty issues in the first 2 years tho. We have something vaguely similar to the Moss Act, but in practice it's hard to defend if the bike is self maintained and you're not a 'trained' mechanic.

I stand corrected. I actually do now recall seeing that sticker on a ‘22 V85TT. With titanium valves, unless it’s a race engine that is frequently serviced, (refer to any modern zero warranty dirt-bike intervals and replacement recommendations) we’ll still be setting them to the looser .15/.20mm spec.
Though I’m not a metallurgist, from real world experience, titanium can be quite brittle when simply torqued a few times, much less high-temp heated and hammered repeatedly. ;)

I set mine as above. Stock E5. 2337 miles. May be snake oil but feels smoother and more responsive. Stupidly I didn't measure what I had, so it could be they were tight even against the 0.1/0.15 spec, I'll never know.
 
I have a 2022 V85TT USA spec, picked up a couple of weeks ago. Manufacture date is marked as 06/2022. I do not have the emission control info sticker under the seat. Unless it's under the glove box! Seems unlikely.
Just did the first service, I set the valves to 0.15/0.20 - actually the left side was already spot on! Sounds great, no ticking noise.
I must say, the bright blue 75/140 oil is a bit weird! Also a total PITA refilling the final drive.

I definitely felt a positive difference using those valve clearances.

Re filling the final drive, yes PITA. Next time I'll see about unscrewing the breather and filling from the top. I think the rear wheel has to come out to do that but it's got to be easier than filling via the fill hole. You put 160cc in right?

Haven't some been misfilled at the factory?? I could be wrong about that.

Factory service manual says drain it warm and refill with 160ml

I humbly disagree. Too many mistakes made by factories and other people. The rear needs 160 max and if you put that much in a quart bottle with a tapered nozzle, cut off a bit then put on a piece of fuel line and it's an easy fill. Don't take off the breather. Going from memory here ,but the six speed calls for 700cc and most use 650cc. Change it too, as many mistakes were made here also.
 
The emissions decal is on the bottom of the seat on my 2021. It calls for 0.10 mm intake and 0.15 mm exhaust.
 
D'oh! Didn't think about the seat - sure enough, there it is.
I used a straw to refill the final drive, with a tiny funnel. Fuel line would be better!
I measured how much came out, a bit under 150ml. Put in about 160. I couldn't see the oil level through the check / fill hole afterwards, but the bright blue showed on the gear teeth inside when I spun the wheel!
