V85TT whine from rear wheel

After an all day return ride to Aldeburgh, I was pushing the V85TT into garage and I noticed a whine from the rear wheel, as if something was rubbing against the tyre. With the bike on the centre stand and spinning the rear wheel the whine was noticeable. Difficult to say where the sound was coming from. It was late so inspected again the next day, the whine had gone. So went for a half hour ride and the whine returned, so must be heat related. Must be the rear bearing or perhaps the drive shaft?

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so any suggestions for a fix or is it back to the dealer to fix it.

note, it also appeared to only whine when pushing the bike forward.

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Remove the rear brake caliper and pads and give the wheel a spin and see if it disappears. Its strange you describe the noise as a "whine" when pushing the bike, usually a "whine" is only noticeable at speed, 20Km/hr and above and bearing related, do you mean "rubbing"

I had removed the calliper and cleaned the pins a few weeks ago.
I'll take the bike out for a warm up again, as the whine or hum (sounds like rubbing perhaps) only occurs after a runout, heat related, and remove the calliper and spin the wheel again. I'll be back if it still whines.
Thanks Good tip.
