First, welcome to the GT Forum. Second, per the paragraph in red above, always try a search before starting a new topic. This has been covered here before. In short, that's the fill port for oil and gas pressurization. The shocks are not user serviceable. It’s on the shock label and likely covered in the owner’s manual (that no one seems to read these days).
Enjoy.
I did search and didn’t find the answer so maybe my search terminology wasn’t adequate. Bought the bike used and there’s no label on the shocks. I did read the manual and it only covers the spring preload. Just because something says it isn’t “user serviceable” doesn’t mean necessarily it isn’t. Case in point - the manual says to change the final drive oil to take it to the MG dealer. For crying out loud! It’s no different than any other drive shaft driven bike. Takes about 5 minutes to do. I like to experiment, anyway, so maybe I’ll see for myself if they can be altered. If successful I’ll post here.
Thanks everyone for the replies.
