Happen to notice oil in the clear plastic tube on the air box today on my 2017 V9 Bobber. I have checked this from time to time over the last year since doing the first service early last year at 900 miles (4900 on bike now.) and it was always dry. So this was a bit of a surprize. Opened up the box and found a small amount of oil. Not sure when this showed up but it must have been in the last couple of months or so. Anyway I cleaned up the oil in the box and tube. I will be watching it closer and will be doing the second service fairly soon before winter hits. If any one has an idea what is going on I would like to hear it.
Thanks

Crankcase vent goes there till it feels comfortable. Like the hose behind the starter on a G5, puke on the ground.

Well the crap goes in your airbox now. Most have luck leaving oil level 1/8" low from full. Ends most of it.
If you search some of the V7 threads here it's well covered, happens almost to everyone like it's normal.

Cleaned mine once. checked oil level and it was a bit overfilled. When I change the oil very soon I will be sure to start it out a bit low and then add until I start to see an oil box fill. Then I will know just where the fill should be.

It really is not a problem anyhow so, as stated above, normal.

Thanks guys. That is exactly what the case is. I am at the full mark so its overfilled. I will shoot for hot oil level between MIN and MAX on the next oil change. Should be doing that fairly soon.
