My '98 EV now has about 111,000 miles showing, so it's had a little wear on it. I have always adjusted valves every 3000 miles using .004 and .006 inches of clearance for the intake and exhaust, respectively. Normally, I would have slight adjustments each time but nothing major. Now, both of my exhaust valves are super tight when it's time to adjust. The intake valves are still as they were, that is, sometimes a little bit of adjustment is needed. For about the last four or five adjustments, the exhaust clearance is so tight I can't even fit a gage into the gap.
The intakes always have to be tightened up while the exhausts now always have to be loosened.
What could this be a sign of? Worn out valves seats? Something else?
