I've found a few "bargain" T5's early 80's. Can't find much info on them though.
I know they are Tonti framed, square barrells and some with 16" front wheels but other than that....

If you have access to Greg Field's Moto Guzzi Big Twins, see page 88.
Or, if you'd like, I could scan and e-mail ('tis only 2 columns).

Because of the rolling diameter of the wheels and the fact they are geared the same as almost all other five speeds they go like a cut cat! All the 16 inch wheeled models got bad press but as long as you follow a few simple rules thy are fine.

1.) Stick to the original tyre profiles. This used to be difficult because for a while 16 inch wheels were out of vogue. The advent of 'Big Wheel' scooters has led to a new found availability again but profiles are VERY important or the bike will handle like a feral shopping trolley!

2.) They are VERY sensitive to tyre pressure changes. Experiment until you find what works for you and check them often!

3.) Keep the suspension in tip-top shape. It pays dividends.

Apart from that the T5 is your basic 'Cooking' model squarefin in ugly clothing. I really like 'em and there are bargains to be had as you say.

Ive just bought a 1985 SP11 V1000.
Is that a T-5? Its got squarish barrels. Mine looks more like a Lemans than any other model I've seen. It has a 16"front wheel.
Pleased for any info about this .
