User Code - Programming Procedure Help (again)

I’ve reviewed several threads on this topic but not finding the specific steps I need. My 2014 Cali Touring came with one key and no discernible user code (I’ve tried everything). My dash and one working key is at Carmo NL and they were able to program a second working key, but unable to learn the user code.

Once installed on the bike, you are supposed to be able to set a new user code with two working keys (which I will have once received back from Carmo NL). I’m worried that I could deprogram my only working keys by doing it wrong. Another option is to forget about having a user code now that I have a spare key, but prefer to have the code if possible without too much risk.

Can someone post a step-by-step procedure to set a user code with only two working keys?

This is probably not what you want to hear , but , I intentionally made sure there would be no user code on mine . Peter
 
I checked the Owners Manual.

There are 3 references to "User Code'

Page 29:
SERVICE ALARM
In case of failure found in the instrument panel or in the electronic control unit, the
instrument panel signals the failure by displaying the word SERVICE and the red
general warning light turns on.
02_18
If there is an immobilizer failure at ignition, the instrument panel requests you to enter
a user code. If the code is entered correctly, the instrument panel signals the failure
by displaying the word SERVICE and the red general warning light turns on.

Page 38:
CODE CHANGE
This function is used to modify an old code. Once you have entered this function, the
following message is displayed:
"INSERT YOUR OLD USER CODE"

Page: 39:
After recognising the old code, the new code is requested and the display shows the
following message:
"INSERT YOUR NEW USER CODE"
If it is the first time a code is stored, only the new code is requested.

No reference on these pages to Keys.

I don't think the User Code and The Keys are related.

Page 22:

The instrument panel has an immobilizer which prevents start-up in case the system
does not identify a key which has been programmed before.

The vehicle is supplied with two keys already programmed. The instrument panel accepts
a maximum of four keys at the same time: contact an Official Moto Guzzi dealer
to enable these keys or to disable a key that has been lost

Interesting. Why and how did you do that? If the need for a user code can be removed, would that negate the need for key programming?

I have to plead stupid here . When I picked mine up (new) , I saw the code light come on , but since nothing
was set I simply start it and ride , no problems with around 15k kilometers on it. I'd have to ask the dealership if
there was anything they did before delivery ( which I doubt ) . Peter
 
Thanks Peter. I’m guessing your user code is 00000. As long as you’re using your original keys, you’d never need to know that.
 
I recently purchased another Breva 1100 and removed the old user code and put in 00000, now when I turn on the ign it asks for a user code, it disappears as soon as I touch the mode button or move trip 1 to trip 2. It starts and runs fine and but I dont think you can have all zero's. I'll put in the vin number when i get a chance
 
That's a bit confusing , you put in all zeros and it starts and run fine and then you mention you don't think you
can have all zeros ? Peter
 
The user code is only used if the key fits the bike, ie turns on the ign but is not programmed to the bike or the receiver coil is faulty around the lock, my keys are programmed to the bike. My other bike which has a valid user code doesn't bring up the request for a user code
