Interesting that we both selected the Special Edition.
I started in industrial automation (robotics and dedicated systems) in 1985 at age 38, after operating a power station (Sylmar Converter Station), managed an industrial electric motor rewind shop, electrician, managed a tire shop, sales rep for power transmission equipment. Retired at age 70, 6 years ago, after 20 years as sales manager with last company.

Other than not concerned about traction control, there is not much I'd change on the V7-850.
 
Hey Everyone. Got some nice looking bikes in here!

I’ve been looking on AF1 at the red header covers however the fitment is only listed as the Carbon and up to V7III.

Looking at the graphite headers on the bike and the red header covers they appear to be the same size and dimensions.

Does anyone know if those cover truly would or would not fit on the new Special Editions?

Has anyone had problems with the stock mirrors ? I was doing two days touring trip (900km/559miles) and at one point when I started the bike, the left mirror just dropped below handlebar :D The bolt at the end of the handlebar had come to loose without warning. Either because of the vibrations or then somebody had hit it (it was parked for two hours) but no visual damages.
Mounting system was somehow "strange" but luckily I had right size alley key in my luggage so I could tighten it, opened the mirror clamp bolt, adjusted it & tightened and trip goes on :D

Will take both mirrors off this week, check the service manual for correct mounting methods (and torque) and add locktite to bolts. Just curious has anyone else have had similar issues ? Not a big deal because you can also tighten them by hand if tools are not available, but then the mirror will point "where ever" and is useless until it can be adjusted with allen key.
It`s strange because wind should tighten them up all the time.
 
Mine were a little loose. Tightened them. End of story. There is a fair amount of handlebar vibration.

Forgot to say that I had ~6000km/3700miles on the clock when this happened. Yup, there is a vibration (especially between 3000-3900rpm) and the design of the mirrors ain`t best against the vibration. Did you check had they put loctite on the bolts in the factory ? Not a big deal but good to everybody know. If you are doing long trips carry a H5 allen key with you or check the mirrors before the trip.

I already bought black titanium bolts for mirrors so time to change :D Those clear bolts bother me very much...for some reason 🤷‍♂️

I would imagine it would just be easier and cheaper to get the stock ones repainted. The red paint colour would be easy to match, and you are taking the stock ones off your bike already - a paint shop would have that done in a day.

Untrue. They are high-temp powder-coated, and not an easy process to strip and re-coat, though cost might be a wash. Upside is you get to pick a color you like. The ones above are an odd color to me.
I will try and verify if the older covers fit and work, as I can’t imagine they don’t, though AF1 is a dealer, so they should know, and they have a Forum too for asking about parts they sell.

Those fit the 2017 V7 III fine - they should fit any V7 III 750 after that- maybe not the 850
