I think I'll be trying that airbox mod, my job on the Breva worked like a good un!
Just got back from a test run as I've had the silencer de-catted by Sabre Custom Engineering, it runs a lot cooler now and performance is definitely UP!
If you have a Stelvio contact Steve at Sabre and he will...
Well I'm back, and I've dried out (yes it rained, well it WAS in wales)
Mine was the only Stelvio in a sea of GS's and quite a few people took pics of it and said some very nice things about it.
Which was nice! :D
I'd keep the grab rail as I use them when I'm bungeeing the tent and sleeping bag on the back seat.
I'm very happy with the TRAX boxes and wouldn't change them.
Once I'm out of the city the width isn't an issue as long as you remember that she's got a wide backside so give a wide berth when...
Got the bike back from Hagons today with the new shock fitted.
Because they used my bike as the pattern i got it half price.
A big improvement over the sachs unit, very happy with it. :D
I think the main difference between the 09 and 10 models is with the cams and mapping.
I've got a 10 NTX and it runs very smooth with no surging or flat spots as some people have reported on the earlier years.
Its a mile eater, and has a definite "modern" feel to the engine which is a lot...
The only problem I have is that there isn't much of a lean angle on the sidestand, and the bike is left pretty much vertical.
Something to have a fiddle with when I get time!
Hagons are building me a shock, the stock one just has no give in it at all and its like riding a brick.
The one they made me for the Breva has really improved the handling.
(along with the Hyperpro fork springs of course) :)
Oh yes, and you couldn't stop there, you would need the guard for the rear brake reservoir, the gear lever and brake guards etc etc.
Funny thing is most of the big beemers I see all Tourateched up never leave the tarmac!
I hate the useless front mudguards they fit these days.
On the Breva and Stelvio I've fitted a rubber extension which keeps most of the crap off the engine.
I collared the Piaggio aftersales guy at the Excel bike show a few weeks back and soon after the bike took another ride in the Guzzi Assist van, although this time NOT to In Moto but instead to Corsa Italiana.
Collected it today and it sounds and rides very sweet.
Turns out there were no shims...
