Sorry to see you go Rene, but better to have the bike in motion rather than sitting. Good on you. You can always buy another down the road. Thanks for posting... and hope he shows here. Hope to see you again one day soon on a new Guzzi.

Hey Todd,

I fear it's highly unlikely I'll buy another motorcycle because of a back problem that became apparent last year. But who knows, if we move back to an urban area I might need to find a way around that.

I didn't get the impression the new owner is very fluent in English, but I sent him a link to a post in the CARC strip thread. So there too, "who knows" :)

Ugh, aging backs. I know that all too well. Frequent visits to the chiropractor keep me on track.
He can post in French (thanks to Google), no problem!

Ah, press bike. Well congrats and welcome. I think you are the youngest Norge rider on the planet. ;)

Hi
Just wondering how you find the EMC Sportshock 1 Shock Absorber, and why you choose that one, and would you choose it again?
Thanks

This nearly new 6k mile undressed Norge is now in the GTM Famiglia. The previous owner has all of the take-off parts if anyone needs fairing/headlight bits. Contact me direct and I’ll put you in touch with him.

The Norge is white is a beautiful bike. I've got my eye on two of them right now (not currently a Guzzi owner). Is the 'issue' with the early 4v heads as serious as it sounds, as in, should I avoid a 2011-2012 model?
Yep, it's as serious as it sounds.
Any 4V up to mid 2012 has the affliction

I no longer own this bike:

It sold in 2015 to a guy from the Bay Area.

Below is an on-going database of 1200 Sports worldwide. Why? Just for the fun of it. If your bike isn't listed below, post a reply to this thread, and I'll add you along with a link to your post with a picture (hopefully of you and your bike, as they all look the same otherwise). If you've sold your bike, or bought one recently and are the new owner of one below, please post.
Feel free to write me direct e-mail to add a photo if you're having any issues in doing so; Todd at GuzziTech.com

Hello, everyone. I didn't find an introduction thread, so I figured this is as good a spot as any.

Traded my 07 Victory Hammer (cuz it didn't like to corner) for a 2011 Triumph Sprint GT.
Traded the Sprint (uncomfortable) for my 2007 MG Norge 1200.

I love riding this bike. I love looking at this bike. I love the sound of this bike.

I've been lurking around since I got it, so I figured I make it proper.

Great Site!

Rob

Congrats and welcome.

Just back from riding mine two-up (and heavily loaded with distaff hair supplies, etc! :giggle:) to W.V. Guzzi rally at Pipestem. What a wonderful machine.

i-ftfDj7m-L.jpg

What is build date of your Norge? Mileage?

Mine suffered -- as did quite a few built c.Nov. '06 - c,Mar. '07 -- from defective oil pumps that led to na$ty results.

Yours is not necessarily affected, but be aware. If outside build date or high mileage -- mine and others seemed to have the problem c.20K -- likely no concern.

Another niggle with '07 Norges was soft spring on OEM shock, at least for folks who aren't built like thoroughbred jockeys or who carry sweeties who bring along their closets.;)

Best,

Bill

In Sept 2018 I bought a silver 2007 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 USA (2-valve) with 36,600 miles on it.
VIN: ZGULPU0017M112211
In this photo I have removed the bags and some of the excess body plastic. Less is more...
