EV Chatter

Sadly ???- they do want 80k for that bike…

and of course that wasn’t directed at Scott, but that it wasn’t a deal breaker - because I wouldn't be making any kind of a deal at that price

I share the skepticism about EV vehicles being any kind of answer ... to any question, really ... but I sure wish we would have figured out this climate change thing before the ash started raining down like snow every year.

Ha! You should try it here in Ohio. We are suffocatig here with all of the Canadian wildfire pollution in the air. What a freaking mess that is up there. I simply cannot believe the Canadian response is to just let it burn and burn and burn and burn and burn…. Meawhile the air quality here is absolutely horrible.

( I Am Joking)

BUT, But, but Scott… what about the little Children !
Dont you want them to have trees to burn in the bonfires to roast marshmallows !
( not really electric vehicle related, but I thought saving trees to Burn later would be Funny )

With all the smoke around here, I sure hope all the little Canuks are just roasting marshmallows to their little heart’s contentment! :p

well, people are dying, and entire cities being evacuated. 14m hectares so far this year... I think Ohio is about 12m, just for scale.

I think we're trying pretty hard actually.

Back on track to the whacky world of EV Motorcycles…

« Lightning Motocycles is using Generative AI Design to improve the performance of their electric motorcycles «

Making UGLY ( but lighter ) parts ???
It’s a tree root rear swing arm…

Since this thread started the UK has decided to press ahead with a Fusion Reactor to make power

step.ukaea.uk

ccfe.ukaea.uk/programmes/step

I went to a lecture on the process and it's fascinating.
One of the plusses is that it's going in about 3 miles from me across the river Trent - so domestic heating from the spare energy is a possibility
Also apparently, there is very little radioactive waste and what there is has a short half life so will be stored on site before conventional recycling after about 10 years

It is a MASSIVE undertaking, and I hope that subsequent governments don't bottle out and pull the funding.

Back in the day, I used to have a 360 Montesa that I used to ride enduros with. All my riding had been on road up to that point. What I quickly discovered was how tiring it was. Anyway, fast forward 35 years and I was on YouTube watching Isle of Man TT stuff and the YouTube algorithm served up several Stark Varg enduro bike videos, which were pretty interesting. It seems for that kind of technical riding, the battery life and bike's capability would probably be better than my endurance and capability. The software interface in which you can dial in how much power, traction, regenerative braking, etc., and set several modes that can be changed on the fly was also quite nice. I expect other brands offer similar tech, but certainly the videos were interesting.

I don't know what the UK really has in mind, but I do know that it is not a Fusion Reactor.

Smart guys have been working on the concept for 70 years, and all we can do is blow things up with a fusion reactor, not make power with it.

It could be another 70 years. Maybe about the same time that we figure out how a Kzin molecular distortion battery works, and electric cars become something besides wealthy peoples' toys.
