Head protectors vs crash bars - how effective?

I have the MG bars because of availability at the time I purchased my bike and they were fitted by the dealer. My thoughts ... if you have an off and require a higher head protection than the original MG bars compared to those that bars that you have fitted Wrasse then that is a massive off and the angle of roll is likely to be close to a roll-over with all that entails. While you might save the engine there will be plenty of damage elsewhere IMHO. That said, your bars do offer a greater ground clearance with the bike on its side so if protection vs aesthetics is your preference then be happy with your choice. Price is also a factor in the purchase price of your bars compared to the MG accessories. Any additional safety choices that you make are to suit your personal needs. I'm happy with the accessories that I have fitted to my V100S = a touring screen, additional lights (both not MG) and MG hard cases and the USB cockpit fitting. I really happy with the bike and while I haven't put as many hours on it compared to others by eyes light up and my face aches from grinning in no time. Live to ride, ride to live
