MY25 V7-850 UPDATES?!

Not a fan of inverted forks on a Stone. I think the standard design with boots is more in keeping with its character.
Agreed. A better standard cartridge fork would’ve been better suited, even with an added brake rotor. I suspect this had much to do with the V7 Trophy series linked below. The Guareschi Bros seem to have a lot of input to the factory on this model, as they run the Series.

Nether one of my bikes will see cast wheels, and the new all
black matt crap does not keep with the old school looks... :)
What is it about gloss colors being pushed out!

First they came for the sparkles in automotive paint, then they came for the glossy finishes, next, bansished hues.... :)

The Special has chrome, spokes and dual gauges for the older crowd. Stone(r) has had matte paint (it's glossy looking in the top photo above), cast wheels and single gauge for the young(er) crowd. Heh.

I might be older but I’m also cheap, ( and didn’t find any with the dual gauges and spoked wheels when I was lookin :wasntme: )
Thanks Todd for reminding me I am old...
What a pal... :D
Ha ha…yeah really !

Hey - that one also has dual front disks !
( sorry Todd, I stopped reading your post “at inverted “ to took at the image ,then never went back.. )
Mmmm, and because of the new shock arrangement they added those “things” to position the fender

Those things makes the front end look so bulky.
Its too bad, because the inverted fork otherwise looks good.

Upgrade to the brake system was badly needed

From photos I’ve seen it looks like they’ve made questionable decisions for the special. The color looks nice but it seems like they’ve essentially left it the same as last year with right side up forks, single disc front brake, but took away the dual analog clocks in favour of the digital one and now has the same headlight as the stone (or sport if that’s what they’re calling it now.

I can appreciate that every company has a couple of groups ( Sales & Marketing) that are forever running around trying to imagine what they can change to get more people to buy + upgrade to the next bike…

Look at the Classic Mini it was almost identical for most of its life and sold 5 million, cheap and small.
I’m not a fan of changing a bunch of crap just for the sake of change…

PS: And I’m not complaining about incremental changes over time to refine the motor, suspension or braking..
And of course the more you think about it, :wasntme: You might start to see some logic in the change, and I might be able to appreciate why they might have done it BUT I don’t have to Like IT :p
