NEW TIRES FOR THE V7-850

Just had the Mutant mounted on my bike this morning.
Due to heavy rain this morning, I didnt get to ride agressively. Nonetheless, I ended up riding 70km on them. They immediately inspired confidence, which i did not expect (new rubber + rain usually = riding on ice)

Cant wait to put them through their paces.
 
I'm excited to see these modern Dunlop Z-rated radials will be available in 110/80-18 & 150/60-17. I'll try to keep a set of these in stock at my shop in Orange. They are also available in the larger/big bike sizes (i.e. 120/70 & 180/55-17).

Any tires you would recommend for the same bike, but, for gravel and road?
 
Unfortunately I am not sure that the v7 850 is homologated in size 110/80, and for insurance this is important, in europe.
I have an early V7 850 and my registration card have only the 100/90 - 18 for the front (I'm in Europe, too).
The latest V7 850 came with a different registration card that reports also the option to mount the 110/80 - 18 in the front.
The options should be 110/80 R18 58V M/C for the front tyre.
And 150/70 R17 69V M/C for the rear.

You can contact Moto Guzzi support that will direct you to a Piaggio website page to request the document (clearance, authorization) to update your registration card with also the new sizes/options (it requires a fee, obviously).

I'm taking this route, so then I can go with radial tyres 110/80 in the front.

I had TKC 70 on my ex. Africa Twin. Great grip, also in rain. Quite silent for dual sport tires. Feel a bit stif to turn into the curve, rear tire very sensible for longitude scratches on road (from snow ploughing).

I've run several sets of the T32 on various bikes I closing my v7's. Better than most and cheap. But, not as nice as a Conti road attack 3.
Hey there Vagrant, I just mounted a set of T32s on my 2022 V7. I put 9,000 miles on the original tires. I'm sort of curious about what I have noticed with these new tires. The bike does not feel unsafe, but it is very eager to lean into a turn now and I can sort of feel the centripetal force of the front wheel in a turn. I do think I am just noticing the geometry difference between the two tire sets and maybe maybe a weight difference in the front tire? The T32s are radials and the originals were bias ply. The cross-section radius of the tires is of course different too. Anyway, the tires are very smooth feeling with no vibration or wobble at any speed. They are just very responsive to input now! This all sound right to you?
 
I changed my tired out for Metzler radials a couple months ago. That eager to turn sensation is there for sure. Makes the bike feel much sportier. I think the front radial is responsible.

Hi there would anyone have some tire recommendations? I see some bikes with some aggressive treads on custom bikes vs regular street tires. Pros and cons? My dealer recommended these good, better, best grades, see attached and I was leaning towards the Michelin Road Classics.

I replaced the stock bias-ply Road Classics with radial-ply Bridgestone T-32s. Very happy with the switch - absorption of road imperfections much better and sharper handling.
